We have a few rituals in our family. Sundays are typically SLOW SUNDAYS, where we take a break from the hectic pace of the week. I try not to schedule in anything on this one day of the week. It’s all about family time and I love it! We begin the day with a fresh fruit smoothie. My girls are reasonably good at eating fruit but I like to top them up on the weekend and a smoothie is the perfect way to do this. We’ve had this ritual for as long as we’ve been parents and it gets us off on the right foot for the day. The blender we received as a wedding gift, eight years ago, has come to the end of its natural life. It had a good innings so I was not sorry to see it go. Instead I was DELIGHTED to welcome the George Foreman Mix & Go PRO into the kitchen and into my family.
I road tested this gadget this weekend and it’s fabulous. This versatile blender allows you to blend smoothies, juices and soups for the whole family in the 1.5L glass jug. In the morning I made my berry blast smoothie and in the afternoon I made my zucchini and parsley soup (recipe coming soon!). I was super impressed with the functionality of my latest kitchen appliance. I think perhaps my favourite feature was the one touch smoothie function. What’s more is you can swap the jug for the for the 600ml BPA free bottle to mix & go. This could definitely come in handy for when we’re not having Slow Sundays and instead it’s Mad Monday 🙂
Berry Blast Smoothie: Ingredients – 1-2 ripe bananas – 2 kiwi fruit – A handful of strawberries – A handful of blueberries (frozen or fresh) – 2-3 oranges – Extra juice or milk as requires – 1/2 cup yoghurt (optional) Method Place all ingredients in the blender jug, pulse several times to combine and then press the SMOOTHIE function. If you’re not using frozen berries, add some ice and it will crush with ease.
If you’re in the market for a new blender, here are a few key features of the Mix & Go PRO:
- 800W of power and Advanced Fusion Blade technology makes easy work of fruit, veges, ice and other smoothie essentials and it is also idea for pureeing soups.
- Features three speed settings and a PULSE mode for total blending control.
- Includes a 1.5L glass jug and a 600ml BPA Free bottle with a separate blade-lid so you can blend directly in the bottle and take it with you when it’s done. How cool is that!
- It’s quick and easy to clean. I just filled the jug with water and detergent and ran the motor, and job done!
I love my new blender and reckon it’ll be getting a good work over in the coming months as soups will be a regular meal. The George Foreman Mix & Go Pro is a winner.
