My sister is one of those rare breeds of people who can entertain effortlessly. Well, it appears effortless. I am quite sure it’s an enormous job to put on a party for over 100 people, which is what she did on the weekend. She and her husband generously host a Christmas party at their country house each year on the first Saturday of December. The numbers seem to get bigger every year and somehow they accommodate them with ease. It is, quite literally, the talk of the town as most families who come up from Melbourne take the opportunity to stay the night and so accommodation in this quiet country town is fully booked thanks to my sister’s party!
It is a highlight of the year and we’ve been going along since Miss A was just a baby. Usually I am pregnant, breastfeeding or kid wrangling, but not this year. My girls are now fairly self-sufficient and they relish the opportunity to play with their cousins, explore the garden and leave the adults to eat, drink and be merry! I am going to let the pictures tell the story. This wonderful day has all the best things in life: Food, family, music, drinks, kids, nature and festivity.
