It’s taken me over a week to start this post as I’ve been recovering ever since I hosted Christmas lunch at my place! Because it wasn’t just Christmas lunch for a dozen people; we hosted Christmas lunch here for 24 adults and 21 children, and even with my poor maths skills, I can conclude this amounts to 45 people!! In keeping with tradition we all sat down to lunch. For the first twenty years of my life my nana hosted Christmas lunch at her place. But as she got older, and the family grew larger, my auntie then took over and for the past 19 years we enjoyed the most fabulous feast at her place. Well the next minute it was dinner time and I simply asked Mr 7 to feed the dog and Miss 5 to set the table….
Yesterday, 5 daughters, 5 sons-in-law and 14 grandchildren gathered together to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday. And what a celebration it was! We enjoyed sensational food and wine in a gorgeous setting, vibrant and animated conversation (a staple of Fox family functions) and we toasted to a fine lady, loving and selfless mum, and all-round remarkable woman. If you want to read about why she’s so special, you can read about her here….

Give your child peas instead of corn and the emotion that surfaces is quite a spectacle. The power battles are endless. Who would have thought food could cause such distress? Before having children I never imagined getting them to eat a variety of nutritious and delicious food would be such an effort, and often an ordeal….
