I fell into a bad habit of buying kids’ muesli bar snacks from the supermarket. Not only are they loaded in sugar but they are expensive, and my kids eat them in about two seconds. These muesli cookies, however, are chewy in texture and take a lot longer to eat. I use the Lowan Muesli that I have for my breakfast, add a few other ingredients and voila – a healthier (and cheaper) alternative to purchasing kids’ snack bars. You can adapt this recipe to taste. As always, a few little chocolate chips makes them a bit more special!…
Yummy banana cake
In my mind, if a cake has fruit in it, then it’s qualifies as healthy. My kids don’t really eat bananas but they eat cake, so I am calling this a victory. There are 4 big bananas in this baby and it has a little sugar and a few choc chips for extra taste! Everyone loves a banana cake, and this is a dead easy recipe….

Flourless orange and almond cake
This flourless orange and almond cake is simple to make and incredibly light, moist and delicious. It’s my “go to” cake when I want a break from chocolate (which is rare) and is the perfect finish to any meal or for morning tea. Whilst its very easy, it’s quite time consuming so you will need to set aside a couple of hours. The key to getting this cake just right is all in the timing. As soon as the edges are going golden, that’s the time to take this cake out.
