New motherhood brings both emotional and physical changes. It involves new beginnings and abrupt endings. Sleep, spontaneity and sex are likely to come to a screeching halt! But perhaps one of the biggest adjustments is the changes to a woman’s body following pregnancy and childbirth.
I’ve talked here on the blog about the some of the indelible marks of childbirth. The crinkly skin that rests below my belly like a kangaroo pouch (minus the joey) is just one of the “souvenirs of my pregnancy”. Let’s put than in the “what I have gained” category. Other things I’ve gained include stretch marks, varicose veins and a crushing fatigue. And then there’s the “what I have lost” category and that’s fairly extensive too. I’ve lost a fair degree of bladder control and my babies have sucked my breasts lifeless. Coming from a control freak, relinquishing control comes with great reluctance.
Being a parent means making compromises and sacrifices every day. And mothers sacrifice A LOT. Oh yes, we know most of it is for the greater good, but it doesn’t mean we can’t go down fighting. Take my lingerie drawer, for example. The onset of motherhood brought dramatic changes to that drawer and it began before the baby was even born. A wise mother who had gone down this path before me advised me to buy a selection of dark coloured knickers, two sizes larger than normal. Surely not two sizes bigger, I thought, reluctant to purchase granny undies. But indeed they really did need to be that much bigger!
I used to love lingerie especially my matching sets of Victoria’s Secret underwear that made me feel very womanly. I enjoyed looking good under my clothes. But my matching sets were selected less and less once I became a mum. I began to favour comfort over style and boycut became my preference. And then I discovered FOXERS.
FOXERS is a new lingerie brand to hit Australia, which is not only incredibly comfortable but also stylish and sexy (and here I thought they were mutually exclusive). FOXERS are essentially boxers for girls, but with added lace, bows and stunning colours. After all, why should men be the only ones to have comfortable underwear?!
And I’m not the only one who finds FOXERS perfect for changing bodies. When pregnant with her son, Alicia Keys bought 13 pairs of FOXERS to get her through her pregnancy and beyond. Not sure that will ever appear on a trivia quiz, but now you’re armed with that knowledge should it ever. As for the stylish and sexy bit, well Beyonce, Rihanna, Jennifer Lawrence and many more super cool celebrities also wear them. And I do too!
FOXERS offer a product for everyone. Whether you’re after looser fitting (but still cute) boxer briefs, boyshorts, g-strings or lace boxers, the patented FOXERS band ensures that you’ll be comfortable at all times (and is perfect for hiding any tummy bulges that may be lingering over from pregnancy). So let’s put that in the ‘win’ category!
They come in sizes from XS to XXL and have matching tank tops and camisoles also available. To ensure your lingerie drawer stays fresh and pretty, FOXERS launch a new range of colours every 2 months, with the ‘Kaleidoscope range’ just released and available online now at www.foxers.com.au.
